i watch three women watch pooja. till now i didnt even know she is pooja. she is the character i see three women watch with eyes so wide that a hippo could walk through them. they watch till the ad break. then mute. then they shred her to pieces. ad break ends. unmute television, mute real women. on the side one woman enlightens me on the character. or the lack of it in some. whiskey sips go on. three women are my characters. pooja is their's. thrice, 20 minute episodes later, i am slumped into the couch, acting pretending i am still watching the three women. in my head i am stiching pooja's past. cool mamaji comes in shakes his head and goes to work. i am finishing my drink i tell myself. chhoti is animated as usual, not livid but laughing with indignition. another is mocking; the third is explaining the prerequisites of becoming a good doormat. i am smiling. my ears and eyes strain to catch pooja. i dont know her name. but i watch pooja now. and i didnt even get the free car deo
